Hot and His Boys,
the Life-Career of J. E. “Hot” O’Brien

Come meet and hear Mr. Bryant discuss his book which features a Dadeville native, John Edward “Hot” O’Brien, who was declared by the Birmingham News in 1985 as the All-Time Best High-School Football Coach (living or dead) in Alabama. The book details his journey and also features his good right hand and greatest fan, his charming and beautiful wife,

Clara Lee Tillery, also a Dadeville native.

The author, W. C. Bryant is from Tallassee where he also played four years of high-school baseball under “Hot” O’Brien. He later attended the University of Alabama, served four years in the USAF Security Service, and played a season of pro baseball. Until his retirement in 1999 he served 15 years as the director of the Tallassee Community Library.
